There is nothing worse than being stuck in a situation where you need a light, but when you reach for your everyday carry flashlight, all you get is a feeble flicker that dies within moments. When I worked security, I always carried a Streamlight, because I knew I could count on it to work. Being able to see in the dark may make a life saving difference, so make sure that you have a light source you can trust. This is where the Streamlight ProTac 2L-X Tactical Flashlight comes in to save the day.
The Streamlight 88063 ProTac 2L-X is a 500-lumen EDC tactical light and incorporates the versatility to use two battery types; two CR123A batteries or one Streamlight Rechargeable Li Ion cell. Multi battery versatility means the user can always use primary disposable cells to power the light if the rechargeable cell is out of power and a charging source is not available.
Designed for use in all markets, it features a tactical tail cap switch for momentary or “constant on” operation, three different user selectable programs and a pocket clip for convenience. The aluminum housing with Type II Military Spec anodizing helps make the light extremely durable and abrasion resistant. Packaged with a removable pocket clip and holster.
Durable, anodized machined aircraft aluminum construction. Dust tight and IPX7 waterproof to 1-meter for 30 minutes; 2-meter impact resistance tested. Gasket-sealed glass lens. Anti-roll head prevents the light from rolling away when placed on a flat surface.
Dual fuel: uses two 3-volt CR123A lithium batteries (included); also accepts one Streamlight 3.7-volt 2600-mAh rechargeable 18650 lithium ion battery with its own cradle charging system.
C4 LED Technology for extreme brightness, impervious to shock with a 50,000-hour lifetime. LED Solid State power regulation provides maximum light output throughout battery life. TEN-TAP Programming features three user selectable programs: High/Strobe/Low; High only; Low/High.
The ProTac 2L-X operates using Streamlight’s trademarked Ten-Tap programmable switch. Simply depress the tailcap to turn the light on high. To keep the light in its 500-lumen setting, depress the tailcap until it clicks. To reach the strobe setting, depress the tailcap slightly twice within 0.4 seconds. Depressing the tailcap fully after reaching strobe will allow the strobe mode to remain on without depressing the tailcap. The same procedure is followed for the low mode, except that the tailcap must be depressed slightly 3 times within 0.4 seconds to reach the low setting.
It all comes down to performance. Period. People who depend on their flashlights, often for their lives, need to be able to count on that flashlight to work. Every time. When it’s freezing cold, scorching hot, desert dry, or rain forest humid. When it’s been beat up, abused, dropped in water, or left in icy snow. They need to know that their flashlight will deliver the light they need for the task at hand. When size and run time are also part of the performance, people know they can trust Streamlight . . . to shine brighter, work better, and last longer.
